2011-2012 Preschool 

Sergeant Bluff-Luton offers a planned and systemic early childhood approach that includes children with special needs. Teachers use an early childhood thematic unit approach that includes a variety of activities and materials designed to meet the needs and interests of all children while at the same time adhering to the Quality Preschool Program Standards (QPPS)Creative Curriculum is the foundation for group activities, play, music, story time, socialization, and field trips which foster interaction between all the children. This developmentally appropriate program is implemented in a positive, nurturing and safe environment where each child is free to explore and learn to his/her greatest potential allowing a successful transition into future learning. 

Registration packets may be picked up the  week of January 31 

Registration: February 7-10 from 9-3 

Days of attendance: 

 5 days per week (M-F) 

 3 days per week (MWF) 

 2 days per week (TTh ) 

Consumable fee: $37* 

Cost: $12/session* 

Hours of attendance: 8:30-11:30 a.m. (3 classrooms) 

Spaces Available: 12 students/classroom 

Priority will be given in the following order: 

  •  Students currently enrolled 
  •  Students with special and/or unique needs 
  •  Students who are 4 years old 
  •  Students who live within the District

**Copies of your child’s birth certificate, Social Security 
card, physical form (including lead screening result), 
immunizations and dental screenings are required before 
your child can start school in August. A vision screening is 
also recommended. 

 

 

2011-2012 Pre-Kindergarten: 

 All Day Program for 5 Year Olds 

The Pre-Kindergarten program is for children who are eligible for kindergarten and will be 5 years old by September 15, 2011. It is designed to meet the needs of children who are academically ready for kindergarten, but may need another year to mature socially before entering kindergarten. A thematic approach is used to enhance pre-academic, social, movement and motor skills through a variety of fun “hands-on” activities. The following school “survival skills” are emphasized: independence, problem solving, following direction/routines, and treating others with kindness and respect. 

Registration packets may be picked up the 

 week of February 7 

Registration: February 14-16 from 9-3 

Days of attendance: Monday thru Friday 

Consumable fee: $37.00* 

Milk fee: $20.00/trimester* 

Hours of attendance: 8:30 a.m. – 3:20 p.m. 

Spaces Available: 12 students 

Priority will be given in the following order: 

  •  Students currently being served 
  •  Parent request 
  •  Teaching Team recommendation 

No other fees are applicable other than those listed.
